Many forms of self hypnosis have been practiced over the
centuries. Even though it is seen as a serious therapeutic technique, self hypnosis is also very soothing, calming
and when practiced regularly, can help you transform yourself.
Before self hypnosis was labeled as an "altered state of consciousness",
it was seen as a phase of sleep. Only after using instruments to monitor brain activity did researchers learn that there was
a big difference between someone in a trance or hypnosis and someone
being asleep.
